Cassia fistula, also known as golden shower, purging cassia, Indian laburnum, kani konna pudding-pipe tree, is a flowering plant in the family Fabaceae. The species is native to the Indian subcontinent and adjacent regions of Southeast Asia.It is also a popular ornamental plant and is also used in herbal medicine.
In Traditional Medicines: Golden Shower Senna is mainly used in traditional medicines including oriental, Chinese Kampo and Ayurveda medicine more than 1000 years.
In Medicine Purpose: Golden shower has been used mainly for medicinal purposes. In particular, ripe pods and seeds are used as a laxative.
